Some mild reds appeared as well, but they didn’t show up with much frequency. A little green showed up at times – ala Matrix - but that stayed modest as well. Even shots of blood appeared muted, as the vast majority of the film came across in varying levels of blue and dark tones. Underworld presented such a flat palette that it virtually came across as a black and white film – or blue and white, as the scheme leaned that way.
I noticed almost signs of print flaws, as the image looked clean outside of a couple tiny specks, and with ample grain, noise reduction didn’t seem to become an issue here. Jagged edges and moiré effects created no concerns, and I saw no edge haloes. A few wider shots betrayed a little softness, but those instances were minor, so most of the film appeared accurate and concise. Underworld appears in an aspect ratio of approximately 2.39:1 on this 4K UHD Disc. The Disc Grades: Picture B+/ Audio A-/ Bonus B+ The film fails to muster much of interest, and it comes as a definite disappointment. Corvinus' third son, who did not inherit immortality, also carried the Corvinus Strain as an exact duplicate of the original virus, hidden away in his genetic code and passed along to his human descendants through the centuries. He had three sons, two of whom inherited their father's immortality and were bitten, one by bat and one by wolf, creating the vampire and werewolf lines.
Somehow, his body was able to mutate the virus, mold it to his own benefit. He was the only survivor of a plague that wiped out his village. It is revealed in the film that Alexander Corvinus is the first of the vampire and Lycan lines. The vampires, werewolves, and Lycans which are not supernatural creatures, but rather the product of a virus. Along the way, Selene not only discovers a mutinous plot to destroy the Vampire Elders, but also a shocking revelation about her father figure Elder, Viktor. She discovers that the Lycans are pursuing a human, Michael Corvin, for experimentation Selene captures Michael herself to find out what the Lycans are up to.
Underworld tells the story of Selene (Kate Beckinsale), a Death Dealer bent on destroying the Lycans who allegedly killed her family. The fourth film, Underworld: Awakening, the sequel to Underworld: Evolution, was released on January 20, 2012.

The first film, Underworld, was released in 2003, and the second film, Underworld: Evolution, in 2006.
